Long ago a mansion stood on these grounds, grounds that were once the site of a Native American burial ground, long ago the house killed and grew on its own long after its mistress' death at her bidding. Sold by the last of the Rimbauer line in 2001, after a paranormal investigation claimed the lives of half the team and destroyed the mansion, today there stands a luxurious condominium.

And it seemed, for a while, that the deaths were over.

The building process went well, not a single death and only normal injuries during construction compared to the three during Rose Red's construction. Even the grand opening went off without a hitch, most of the 250 units sold despite the ground's bloody history.

Ten years after the opening the complaints start, right after one of the tenants purchases an imp statue, one exactly like the imp statue that used to grace one of the rooftop peaks of Rose Red. Complaints of hammering and sawing in the dead of the night, of phone lines and power going out in individual units, cold drafts, all very small things. And then strange people started showing up, taking residence in empty units without even moving anything in.

But for the normal residents this was all they saw. For the newcomers things got much, much worse. Hallways and rooms where there weren't supposed to be, strange stairs leading to non-existent attics or wine cellars, a library with mirrored floors, a solarium filled with red blossoming flowers (roses mostly), and an attic tower with a stained glass window featuring a rose. Not to mention the ghosts of Ellen Rimbauer, April Rimbauer, Sukeena, and Dr. Joyce Reardon.
